In the 80's Peugeot was one of the greatest names in the hot hatch game, with two GTi models hooning every other car park and a 4WD homolation rally car setting aflame those with any petrol in their veins. Still, the motorsport boffins at Peugeot were not content and set about creating another, rally homologation special for the masses. This special edition would not have fancy wheels, neither would it sport a radio, rear ash tray or storage bins in the passenger door, as these would all be binned once the car was bought to fulfill its purpose, which was to excel at sub 1300 cc class rally events, this is also the reason they only came in white! With 102 punchy horses, less than 800 kgs to chuck around and a 38% shorter price tag than its big brother 1.9 GTI, the new 205 Rallye was set to become an instant legend.
