The Audi Quattro (deriving from quattro which means four in italian), first presented to its customers in late 1980, featured such a significant drivetrain, that Audi chose to baptize their new sports model based only on its four wheel drive. Headlining with a 2.1 L inline-5-cylinder turbocharged engine pushing a maximum of 200 bhp and 285 Nm of torque. 40 years ago this was a substantial amount of force, easily moderated by the largest jump ever made in drivetrain technology.
